Suav Hits 171,000 Spotify Streams: A Testament to Hard Work and Talent

When it comes to South African hip-hop, few artists are embodying the grind and vision quite like Suav. Known for his distinct sound and storytelling finesse, Suav has had an incredible year in 2024, capping it off with a career milestone: 171,000 Spotify streams. For an independent artist carving his path, this achievement is more than just a number—it’s proof of the passion and effort poured into every beat and lyric.

We caught up with Suav to reflect on this accomplishment, discuss his hit single INMYSLEEP, and get a glimpse into his plans for the future.

Katlego: Congratulations, Suav! 171,000 streams is huge. How does it feel to reach this milestone?

Suav: Thank you, man. It feels good to know that somewhere out there, people are resonating with my music. Right now, it’s not just in the city—it’s worldwide. But, if I’m honest, I know I haven’t given my best yet. From here on, my goal is to show my supporters that we didn’t get here by luck.

Katlego: Your single INMYSLEEP is blowing up! Can you tell us what makes this song so special?

Suav: Honestly, it’s just God’s work. I didn’t know one word (Mamacita) could have Latinas showing love like this—it’s surreal. When we were working on the video, it was all about having fun, and the outcome? Next level. I’m grateful for everyone who’s vibing with it.

Katlego: What’s next for you?

Suav: The plans I have for the future are insane. This whole year, I’ve practically lived in the studio, and I’m not slowing down. There’s so much more to come—bigger music, bigger visuals, and bigger collaborations.
